Ogun State is set to host another major industrial development as Lee Group, a multinational conglomerate, prepares to establish an ultra-modern industrial park on 450 hectares of land acquired along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, around Makun Village near the Sagamu Interchange.
Governor Dapo Abiodun is scheduled to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on Thursday, November 12, 2026, marking another step in the state government’s drive to attract large-scale investments, expand industrial capacity and create employment opportunities.
The industrial park, designed to accommodate 29 factories alongside supporting commercial and recreational facilities, is expected to add to Ogun State’s growing industrial base and strengthen its appeal to local and international investors.
The proposed factories will manufacture a range of products, including footwear and leather goods, plastics, packaging materials, personal care products and household items, among others. The development will also feature conference halls, hospitality facilities and recreational amenities to support business operations and provide complementary services within the industrial complex.
Its strategic location along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, close to the Sagamu Interchange, is expected to facilitate access to the large consumer markets of Ogun and Lagos states, while providing businesses with an important gateway to markets across the West African corridor.
Beyond its manufacturing capacity, the project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment, stimulate commercial activities and create business opportunities for local suppliers, logistics operators, contractors and service providers.
The development is also expected to contribute to the expansion of the state’s industrial value chain, deepen private-sector participation in the economy and create opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises to support the operations of the factories.
The project aligns with the Abiodun administration’s economic development agenda, which prioritises industrialisation, investment promotion, infrastructure development and job creation. Ogun State’s proximity to Lagos, extensive road connections and established industrial clusters have continued to shape its appeal as a destination for manufacturing and other productive investments.
The groundbreaking ceremony will formally signal the commencement of the project, adding another prospective investment to Ogun State’s expanding industrial landscape and reinforcing its ambition to strengthen its position as a major manufacturing and distribution hub in Nigeria and the wider West African region.
