Shortly after the Ogun State Government announced that they have suspended the Eselu of Iselu, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, over some actions he took with some politicians recently, and after they circulated the news to journalists,

The correspondent of  Iroyin Yewa magazine Orishabuyi Oluwafemi was contacted Kabiesi to hear his own side of the story.

There, the Eselu of Iselu, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, said he is grateful for the action taken by the Ogun State Government.

Kabiesi described the action as something that shows that he is a father to all contestants, as is the status accorded to traditional rulers in Yorubaland.

“I am grateful that they didn’t say I committed adultery, they didn’t say I embezzled community funds, and they didn’t say I stole. What I did is what they reported.”

“It is true that I took a photo with the former Vice President of Nigeria who is also now contesting for the position of President of Nigeria, that is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is in the ADC party, I was at a birthday celebration of a contestant in the APC political party, and a contestant in the PDP political party also came to my house warming.”

“I want people to know that I am in the position of a king, and I am a father to anyone who contests for a position in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole, I am not a king for one political party.”
