The leadership of the apex youth associations across the four zones of Ogun State—Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, and Egba—held a historic closed-door meeting in Abeokuta to deliberate on the future of Ogun State and the strategic role of young people in the 2027 General Elections.

The meeting brought together the National President of Egba Youth Association, the National President of Ijebu Youth Association, the President of Yewa Youth Association, and the President of Remo Youth Association. As the highest coordinating body for all community youth associations across the four zones and a significant proportion of the state’s voting population, we affirm our commitment to speaking with one voice on issues affecting the future of Ogun State.

Following extensive deliberations, the RIYE G4 Youth Leadership hereby adopts the following resolutions:

1. Unity of Purpose

The era of dividing the youths of Ogun State along zonal affinity for political advantage must come to an end. The RIYE G4 stands as a united and indivisible platform. The interest of one zone is the collective interest of all. Our strength lies in our unity, and together we shall pursue a common vision for a greater Ogun State.

2. Youth-Centred Governance

The youths of Ogun State remain the backbone of the state’s economy, innovation, democratic participation, and social development. We therefore advocate that youth welfare, empowerment, education, employment, entrepreneurship, and meaningful inclusion in governance must occupy a central place in the agenda of all political actors ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

3. Responsible Political Engagement

The RIYE G4 shall continue to engage all political parties, candidates, and stakeholders in the interest of Ogun State youths. Our decisions and endorsements shall be guided by competence, credibility, equity, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress and prosperity of our state.

4. Demand for Inclusive Leadership

Any political platform or candidate seeking the support of the youths of Ogun State must present measurable, and youth-focused policies, away from tokenism and political exclusion. The youths of Ogun State deserve meaningful representation and active participation in governance before, during, and after the elections.

5. Call for Peace and Civic Responsibility

We call on all youths across Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, and Egba to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and united as we continue constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders. We urge every young person to participate actively in the democratic process while upholding the values of peace, dialogue, and mutual respect.
