What you need to know about Ilaro-Iwoye-Owode Yewa road that Gov Abiodun Commissioned.

The road Start from lta Oshin via Ibooro to Ilaro, from Ilaro to Owode from Owode Yewa to Badagry Expressway .

And this road is Federal government road not Ogun State road.

This is one of the reasons that it was not easy for State government, in Ogun State to do it.

During the administration of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun within 2011/2019, he promised to do it. He pulled down some Houses that may not allow the construction of the road, four lanes inside Ilaro township, but Amosun’s administration didn’t complete the road.

During the campaign and inauguration service of Prince Dapo Abiodun in 2019,Oba Kehinde Olugbenle urged the new administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun to complete the road.

Gov.Abiodun promised to do so, but when Governor Abiodun assumed office, he changed his promise when he noticed that the road was federal government project.

Gov. Abiodun now gave the project to another contractor to handle .

When the road could not be completed at the stipulated time,Oba Kehinde Olugbenle urged Gov. Abiodun to help them fixed part of the road from Ilaro to Owode Yewa.

Gov. Abiodun promised to do it with one condition. He told Oba Olugbenle that his government will do it but the road will not be in four lane as the last administration planned to do it.

Kabiesi agreed and Gov Abiodun Started the road from Ilaro junction to Owode Yewa junction.

That is why the road Stated for four lanes from Sayedero Market to Union Bank at Ilaro, but back to two lanes from there to Sabo junction, from Sabo junction to Owode Yewa constructed in two lanes.

But when Gov. Dapo Abiodun commissioned the road he didi not state it clearly the actual amount he expended to complete the 27 kilometers road that he commissioned.

Governor Abiodun also said in his speech that his administration has built affordable houses in Ilaro and constructed between eight to nine roads in Ogun West Senatorial District in fulfilment of his promises not to develop one part of the State to the detriment of others.

But the affordable houses that Gov. Abiodun emphasized, is yet to be completed and commissioned like the ones they built and commissioned in the remaining two Senatorial Districts of Ogun Central and East.

Also in his speech,Gov.Abiodun didint mention anything about the renovation of Hosanna bridge, Oke Ela and Gbogidi Bridge that works have commenced on it in some weeks back.

But when they began the work, with the hype here and there, it seemed the projects would become a complete reality and be passable within two weeks but we noticed that the work is on snail speed as it is before .

And Govnor Abiodun didi not say anything about the bridge, may be the construction is from State or from Federal government .

We give kudos to Gov. Abiodun For Commissioning this road after some weeks that FAJ communications called the Abiodun’s administration attention to this project and other ones in one of their online publication, (African news broadcast online) .

And it also escapes Governor Abiodun’s mind to inform the people the actual amount that Gov. Abiodun spent to complete the 27 kilometers road that he cut the tape for motorists to use in full glare of the media and the whole world.
