As gladiators began early strategies and realignments of possible ways to retain power or remain relevant in the nation’s political turf ahead 2027, a conglomerate of groups has called on former Member House of Representatives Musawa and Matazu Hon Dr Garba Shehu Matazu to run for Senator Katsina South
The group, comprising youth and women in a statement signed by Comrade Sulaiman Dahiru Tandama eulogized political antecedents of Dr Matazu in the National Assembly, saying the federal legislator would have so much value to add to the people of the state and take Katsina to a greater height.
Tandama acknowledged immense contributions of Dr Matazu to growth and development of his state and beyond, despite the fact that he had been out of corridor of power in the past decade.
Dr Matazu has continuously been in touch with the people to ensure their basic needs on health, education and general welfare are well taken care of.
“He has a regular arrangement in place where material resources and palliatives flow to the less privilege and the needy.
“Our youth and women have been empowered on various vocations and skills, many of whom are now bread winners of their families and employers of labour in the society.
“He has used his influence to attract several international support organizations to train and provide funds to youth so they could be selfreliant and become useful and responsible members of the society.
“Dr Matazu has managed to keep an immaculate and praiseworthy record in all his previous engagements in public service and private endeavors which We believe was not by accident but rare attributes needed in leadership.
“His family pedigree built over the years on integrity, commitment and service to humanity is well known to the people of the state and the country by extension.
“We have made a holistic assessment and general appraisal of prominent figures and come to a consensus that Dr Matazu is the best among his equals and deserves to be given a chance to be next Senator of our dear Zone so that citizens can gain from his wealth of experience, hard work and commitment to serve.
“We shall roll out our drums soon to align with other groups with genuine interest and zeal for progress and development of Funtua Senatorial Zone to start consultations and outreach to important stakeholders and grassroots mobilizers in order to achieve our goal of ensuring Dr Matazu emerges next Senator Katsina South ” he vowed
