SO-SAFE CORPS ARRESTS THREE SUSPECTED CULT MEMBERS, RECOVERS FIREARM IN IJAGUN

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has arrested three male suspects allegedly linked to cult-related activities and recovered one firearm during a security operation at Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun Town.
The State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at about 4pm, following credible intelligence concerning the activities of suspected cultists in the area.
According to the report, operatives of the Corps moved to Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun Town, where they conducted a security operation that led to the arrest of three male suspects identified as Samuel, Dapo and Favour.
During the operation, one firearm was reportedly recovered from the suspects. The weapon was immediately secured by the operatives and preserved as an exhibit for further investigation.
Following their arrest, the three suspects were taken into custody and subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba, for further investigation, interrogation and other necessary legal action. The recovered firearm was also handed over to the Police as an exhibit in connection with the case.
The State Commander commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-led action, stressing that the Corps would continue to work towards preventing cultism, armed criminal activities, violence and other threats to the safety and security of residents across Ogun State.
Commander Ganzallo further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies concerning suspicious movements, cult-related activities, possession of illegal firearms and other criminal activities within their communities.
The arrest and recovery underscore the commitment of the So-Safe Corps to strengthening community safety through intelligence gathering, rapid response and effective collaboration with other security agencies.
