I sponsored 11 Bill within one year….. South West Development Commission Bill, Federal College of Aviation Technology, Ilara…

The Former Governor of Ogun state and Senator representing Ogun East senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has said that he sponsored 11 Bill within one year.

The Senator who stated this while presenting his stewardship report at a “Dialogue with Journalists” organized by the Nigerian Union of journalists, Ogun state Council.

Speaking on 11 sponsored bill, Otunba Gbenga Daniel said part of the bill he sponsored were, the South West Development Commission Bill, Federal College of Aviation Technology, Ilara, Remo, Terminal Illness Trust Bill, Media Practitioners’ Registration Council, Hospices Establishment Bill, also Constitution of the Federal Of Nigeria Birth Right Bill among others.

He said that
the South-West Development Commission bill, which, at a second reading and if passed and assented by the President, would boost the South-West economy to an enviable heights

Senator Gbenga Daniel also expressed his concern over the low rate of enlistment from the South West zone into the military and police force.

Senator Daniel now encouraged parents to allow their children to join the forces, highlighting the benefits and opportunities it provides.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Daniel has sponsored eleven bills, including the South West Development Commission Bill, which aims to boost the region’s economy.

He also highlighted various empowerment schemes and medical initiatives that have benefited over 3,000 people in his constituency.

The Senator emphasized the importance of military service, which has produced notable leaders in politics and economy.

He urged parents to stop discouraging their children from joining the military and paramilitary services, stressing the positive impact it can have on their lives and the nation.

“As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Navy, I have seen firsthand our people’s lackadaisical approach to enlistment into this noble service.

“A lot of positive things are happening in the Nigeria Navy on a daily basis, and I want to urge parents to stop discouraging their wards from joining the military and paramilitary services” he said.
