Monarchs,Traditional Heads,IBD honour Eng.Sunday ljidele as he buries mother with glitz and glamour at Republic of Benin
It was the gathering of who-is-who from Nigeria and Benin Republic as the business mogul, Engineer Sunday Ijidele buried his mother, late Madam Elizabeth Gbemisola Ijidele (nee Adechi) at Adja Quere, near Ipobe in the Republic of Benin on Saturday 11th January, 2025.
At the burial Mass, which took place at Catholic Church, Adja Quere, the officiating Priest, Rev. Fr. ……. described late Madam Ijidele, as a devout Christian and mother of the Catholic Church of Adja Quere.
He said Madam Ijidele spent her life and resources for the growth of the Catholic Church in the community.
Rev. charged children of the deceased to emulate the good examples of their late mother and worship God always.
He said, “your late mother was an ardent and devout christian, who devoted her life and resources to evangelization. She doesn’t deviate from the godly ways during her lifetime. Mama, who was the Chairperson of the Church, contributed in no small measure to the Church. I implore you to imbibe mama’s good gestures towards humanity and the church”.
“I want you to be rest assured that the good deeds of your mother will count for her on the last day and she will make paradise by God’s grace.
Commenting on the virtues of his mother, Eng. Sunday Ijidele said, “my mother was a godly and faithful mother who doesn’t take church attendance with levity. She taught us to imbibe and follow this footsteps and we have been doing in it”.
On her part, Mrs Juliana Ijidele while extolling mama’s virtues said, “our late mother was 102 year of age, but I am still pained by her demise. She was a gentle matriarch like a dove and she always told us to always put God first in all what we do. All her children and grandchildren will surely miss her”
The grandchildren described her as a kindhearted grandmother, who always doted on the grandchildren despite her old age and till her death.
Chief Abidemi Akorede said ” I know mama in my younger days, she was lover of children. I implore those of us here today, especially women to always show love to children, embrace all and sundry because the absence of these good traits, make people to label someone with names that is unbeffiing to him or her”
Chief Abidemi Akorede stated that the deceased was a selfless women leader, who has contributed immensely to the development of Igbooro while she was alive.
She was a “lover of children. I implore those of us here today, especially women to always show love to children, embrace all and sundry.
“Mama left a good legacy for women to follow”.
The Balogun of Ebute Igbooro and traditional head of Igbooro stated that the deceased was a selfless women leader who has contributed immensely to the development of Ebute Igbooro while she was living there till she moved to stay with her children in Lagos.
Balogun said ” It is because of Mama Elizabeth Ijidele’s good deeds prompted our presence of We the chiefs of Igbooro here today.
The duo of Mrs Deborah Ojugbele and Mrs Ramota Apena affirmed that Mama left a good legacy for women to follow.
Monarchs from Benin Republic,Nigeria, like Oloja odan of Oja odan, Olowobese Adetunji were present at the ceremony.
Prominent personalities also present included Businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, members of Inumidun Squad, politicians from Benin Republic, Chevron staff f Lagos state and petrol dealers from Cotonou.
Comrade Isa owolabi, Manager of Ocon Success Bank,Oja Odan,Sunday Adesi, also graced the event.
As Segun Oluwole popularly known as Alawada was ditching rib cracking jokes, the Juju Band played melodius songs to the admiration of the guest.
Engr. Ijidele expressed gratitude to all the guests for honouring him with their presence.
