Isikalu Commiserates with Victims of Fulani herdsmen’ killings, appeals to Government to declare state of emergency on security in Iwoye- ketu
Isikalu Olalekan Abidemi has Commiserated with the people of Iwoye-Ketu, Imeko Afon local government Area of Ogun State over the incessant attacks, kidnappings and lost of lives in the hands of Fulani herdsmen.
Isikalu said it in the press release made available to the Journalist on Tuesday 27th of August 2024 that people in Iwoye-Ketu are Farmers and Traders but anytime the Herdsmen attacked the community it always resulted to untold calamities in the entire community.
He mentioned the death of Mr Eric Adekambi, when he was trying to rescue one of the victims from the kidnappers.
“ We can see that the impact of these violences on Iwoye-Ketu and Yewa North/ Imeko Afon federal Constituency can not be overstated. Families have been torn apart, livelihoods have been destroyed, and the sense of safety that once characterized the community has been shattered. People live in constant fear, unsure of when the next attack will occur.”
“Though, our amiable Governor.Gov.Dapo Abiodun has deployed security agencies to this community but I’m also pleading on behalf of the community and Yewa North/ Imeko Afon federal Constituency that Government Should declare state of emergency on the Security issue on this affected areas”.
“I believe that this will help the farmers in this area to go back to their daily work as it being witnessed before”.
” I remember what Governor Dapo Abiodun did during the issue of Fulani herdsmen in Igbooro Land in some years back ,which Iwoye-Ketu was also part of it then.
“That is why I believe in Prince Dapo Abiodun that he can do it , because since then all Igbooro Land has been peaceful and there is nothing like Fulani herdsmen attacks in the area.
” I am appealing to the government to take the same action in the issue of Iwoye-Ketu Land
” Once again,on behalf of my people in these areas, I urgently call on the government to declare state of emergency on security in Iwoye-ketu and its environs”.
