Isikalu urges 200 Ideas-Tvest Beneficiaries to Maximise opportunity, Build sustainable future

Comrade Isikalu Olanrewaju ÀLÀMÚ, President of the Yewa Youth Association (YYA), has urged the 200 beneficiaries of the IDEAS-TVET Empowerment Programme in Yewaland to make judicious use of the opportunity provided to them.
Speaking at the programme, Comrade Isikalu cautioned the beneficiaries against viewing the empowerment initiative as their share of the “national cake,” urging them instead to regard it as a platform to acquire practical skills, become self-reliant, create opportunities for others and contribute meaningfully to the development of Yewaland and Nigeria.
He noted that the selection process was highly competitive, stressing that many other qualified and deserving young people applied for the programme but were not selected.
According to him, the beneficiaries should therefore consider their selection both a privilege and a responsibility, and ensure that they maximise the opportunity.
“You should not see this opportunity as your share of the national cake. See it as a platform to build yourselves, become productive, create opportunities for others, and contribute meaningfully to the development of Yewaland and Nigeria.”
The YYA President commended Comrade Adeola Adeyemi, CEO/Director of Recreation Innovation Hub and Training Programme Manager of the IDEAS-TVET Initiative, who also serves as Secretary General of the Yewa Youth Association, for his exceptional dedication and commitment to youth development across Yewaland.
He particularly acknowledged Adeyemi’s efforts in facilitating the training of 200 beneficiaries across Yewaland in three different skill areas, describing the initiative as a laudable contribution towards addressing youth unemployment and promoting sustainable skills acquisition.
Comrade Isikalu also expressed appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Education and the World Bank for the IDEAS-TVET initiative, describing it as a timely intervention capable of equipping young people with relevant skills for self-employment and economic participation.
He further appreciated the recognition of Recreation Innovation Hub as a Training Service Provider under the programme.

He stressed the need for beneficiaries to transform the training and support received into sustainable livelihoods, viable businesses, employment opportunities and positive contributions to their communities.
He therefore encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed, disciplined and determined, noting that the ultimate success of the programme would be measured not merely by the number of people trained, but by what beneficiaries are able to achieve with the skills and opportunities acquired.
