The Ogun State Police Command has thrown its weight behind the SWAT 1.0 Students’ Conference organised by the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade, scheduled for Friday, 9 October 2026, by 9:00 a.m. at the Leadership Auditorium. The conference is themed “Preparing Students for a Purposeful Future While Navigating Campus with Excellence.”
With SWAT representing Security, Welfare, Academics, Training and Seminar, the conference brings these key areas of student development together on one platform, with the aim of equipping students with practical knowledge, positive values, leadership skills and guidance for navigating campus life and preparing for a purposeful future.
A major focus of the conference is security and student-police engagement, providing an avenue for constructive dialogue on security consciousness, peaceful coexistence, responsible conduct and the collective responsibility of students in maintaining a safe academic environment. The Command commends the SUG President and Host/Convener, Comr. Akinpelu B. Timothy, and his executive team for the initiative.
