PDP primary election hold August 31st 2024 and Chairmanship primary elections hold on September 7th 2024-Hon.Abiodun Awoleye

Ahead of the November local government polls in Ogun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its readiness to participate in the poll as the major opposition party.
The party expressed this on Wednesday at the meeting of the party’s stakeholders chaired by the Party’s caretaker chairman, Hon Abiodun Awoleye in Abeokuta, the State capital.
It also announced that the primary elections to elect councillorship candidates will take place on August 31st 2024 while the Chairmanship primary elections will hold on September 7th 2024.
The party urged the Ogun State independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC to maintain its independence and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process, adding that the electoral body “must go extra mile to prove that the commission will not be teleguided by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC)”.
“The integrity of our democratic processes is paramount, and any actions that compromise this integrity must be addressed with the utmost seriousness.
“We call on all our party members, stakeholders as well as Ogun electorate to uphold the principles of democracy and work together with the PDP towards free, fair, and credible local government elections in the State.
“The PDP is pleased to declare that our party is fully prepared for the upcoming elections. Our commitment to a transparent and timely electoral process remains steadfast, and we are confident in our readiness to participate and win the elections.
Party Chieftains present at the meeting include the 2023 governorship candidate, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, Members of the caretaker committee, and other party stakeholders.
