SO-SAFE CORPS ARRESTS 27-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT FOR VANDALIZING AND STEALING ALUMINIUM WINDOWS IN OGUN
The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 27-year-old man, Ayobami Akodun, for allegedly vandalizing and stealing aluminum, already installed in some residential buildings in Basirimi Street, Kajola Railway Station, a community in Ifo Local Government Area.
The suspect was apprehended by officers attached to the Seriki Kajola Divisional Headquarters under Ifo 2 Area Command during an early morning routine patrol.
This was contained in a statement by the State Commander , Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
In line with the statement, during routine patrol on September 6, 2026, the suspect Ayobami Akodun was spotted on the road at about 4:27am in a suspicious manner. Hence, he was asked to stop but instead, he bolted and instantly, the team of operatives chased him till he was apprehended.
While interrogating the suspect, he confessed that, he has previously escaped after being arrested on two different occasions before he was finally nabbed.
The suspect is alleged to be a notorious burglar, specializing in removing aluminium windows from houses within the Arepo Seriki community.
“Our officers were on a routine patrol when they intercepted the suspect,” the statement read. “Upon interrogation, Ayobami Akodun confessed to the crime and led our officers to two different houses where he had broken the glass windows to cart away the valuable aluminium frames.”
The suspect has been transferred to the Lemode Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The agency reiterated its commitment to keeping Ogun State communities safe and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the nearest So-Safe Corps office.
