SO-SAFE CORPS NABS PREGNANT INFORMANT AND ACCOMPLICE OVER SUSPECTED BREAK-IN IN OGUN
The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has apprehended a pregnant woman identified as Taiwo Sholagbemi, following an alleged attempted house breakin incident at Crown Estate, Ajibode, Ogun State.
In a statement by the State Commander, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the at about 9:30am on September 7, 2026, the Area Commander, Tigbo/Ijako/Isorosi Area Command, ACC Nureni Alimi, received a distress call from residents of Crown Estate, Ajibode, that a pregnant woman had allegedly been caught inside a resident’s house and subsequently fled the scene.
Upon receiving the information, he mobilized his team of officers for immediate search expected arrest of the suspect. In an effort , the officers combined with the communal to locate the suspect, the search deepens and all surrounding communities were thoroughly searched.
On sighting the search team from her hiding place, the suspect made an attempt to escape but was overpowered by the joint search team and subsequently arrested.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspect confessed that she is an informant for two men from the northern part of the country.
Recounting how she joined the syndicate, Taiwo said, she was about three months pregnant when she met Dongo, whose real name was later known as Ibrahim Mohammed but popularly known as minister in Joju axis while she was begging for alms at Sango. Meanwhile , Dongo, who has a different mission said he can only be of financial help to her if she could be their informant ahead of any operation they intend carrying out. She explained that, their modus operandi has always been that the Dongo and his team would locate a house, gather information about the house, she’ll be given over 200 master keys to use if eventually the location of of the house key has either changed or information about it’s location was incorrect and a particular bike man would convey her from Joju, which was their usual place to converge, to the target building. On this day, she saw the key at the exact point has informed. It was at this point of leaving the apartment that she was seen and accosted by the owner of the house. She said, this will be her third time of joining the gang.
Meanwhile, on the part of the house owner, she explained that, when she saw her she questionned her on how she had access to the house. Instantly, she escaped and locked her inside the house but she came out through the other exit of the house then she raised alarm.
Following further investigation, the suspect was used as bait to apprehend “Dongo” while undercover operatives of the Corps laid ambush for him. He eventually arrested at Joju. The third suspect is at large as at the time of this statement.
However, during interrogation, “Dongo” denied giving any keys to Taiwo or instructing her to break into the house. He also stated that he is involved in the buying and selling of scrap materials and that he only knew Taiwo after she allegedly sold a generator to him about a month ago, which he claimed he purchased for the sum of ₦41,000.
Both Taiwo Sholagbemi and Ibrahim Mohammed has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Headquarters for further investigation possible prosecution
The State Commander assured members of the public that the investigation would be conducted thoroughly and in accordance with the law, while appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies in order to prevent criminal activities and safeguard lives and property within their communities.
