SO-SAFE CORPS ARRESTS 21-YEAR-OLD APPRENTICE FOR BURGLARY AND STEALING AT ASORE

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested a suspected burglar, identified as Ayomide Adebayo, over the alleged burglary and stealing of household items and money from a residence at Asore, Atan-Ota, Ogun State.
This is contained in a statement by the State Commander, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo and disclosed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
The 21-year-old suspect was apprehended on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after he was caught inside a residence at Asore, Atan-Ota, following his unlawful entry into the premises.
According to the report, a distress call was received by the Atan Area Commander, ACC Adekunle Job, at about 1:30 pm, informing him that a male suspect, identified as Ayomide Adebayo allegedly jumped over a fence and gained unlawful access to a house. Instantly, the Area Commander mobilised officers to the scene, following which the suspect, who has been beaten before arrival of operatives, was brought to the Command for further investigation.
In the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed to gaining access to the premises through the rear fence. He further disclosed that he removed the window burglary protection in order to gain entry into the main building.
According to his confession, after gaining access to the house, he allegedly removed some household items, including rice, bread and cooking pots, as well as an undisclosed amount of money.
The incident reportedly occurred while the owner of the house was away in church. Upon his return, the owner discovered that the gate was locked from the inside, which aroused his suspicion, as he had locked the gate from outside before leaving for church.
The owner subsequently found a way to gain access to the premises and discovered the suspect inside the house. He immediately raised an alarm, which attracted attention and led to the suspect’s apprehension and subsequent handover to the So-Safe Corps.
Consequently, the suspect was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Atan Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and appropriate action.
The complainant expressed his appreciation to the So-Safe Corps for prompt response and intervention. He also urged members of the community to continue supporting the Corps in its efforts to maintain peace and security.
The Commander, while reiterating the Agency’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urged members of the public to be observant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities within their communities. Likewise he advised the populace to desist from taking laws into their hands.
