SO-SAFE CORPS ARRESTS SUSPECTED BURGLAR OVER CHURCH BREAK-IN IN IFO

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as the So-Safe Corps, has apprehended a 31-year-old man, Babajide Usman, in connection with an alleged burglary at Glorious Christian Bible Church, Ayede, Ifo.

In an official statement by the State Commander, Cmdr (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, it was disclosed that the suspect, who has no definite address, was apprehended on Monday, September 28, 2026, at about 8am, after allegedly attempting to break into the church premises.

During preliminary questioning, the suspect confessed that he jumped over the church fence at about 9pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and removed copper pipes connected to four air-conditioning units. Also, he said that he had sold the stolen copper pipes to scrap dealers popularly known as bolah.

The suspect, believing he had succeeded in the previous crime stated that the returned to the same church premises on the morning of Monday, September 28, 2026, at about 8am, with the intention of stealing Gerard roofing sheets, when he was apprehended by operatives of the Corps.

Subsequently, the suspect and the recovered exhibit have been handed over to the Ifo Police Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law.

The State Commander commended the Area Commander, Coker-Ibogun Area Command, ACC David Sanni and his officers and men for their vigilance, prompt response and commitment to protecting lives and property.

He also urged churches, businesses, residents and other members of the public to strengthen their security measures and promptly report suspicious activities to the Corps or other appropriate security agencies.
